Arsenal have announced a 32 man squad for their inaugural quest for the NextGen Series- a new U-19 Champions League tournament. The young Gunners will face Athletic Bilbao, Olympique Marseilles and Olympiacos in the group stages, with the home fixtures being played at Underhill.


As expected for a squad of this size, it’s a mixture of first year scholars- such as Jack Jebb, Leander Siemann and Chuba Okpom, along with names that will become the fulcrum of the Reserve team this season, such as Martin Angha, Kristoffer Olsson and Serge Gnabry. Thomas Eisfeld, Nico Yennaris and Chuks Aneke are also included, but you’d think highly unlikely to feature.


The squad is effectively now reduced to 31 as Benik Afobe has joined Bolton on loan. Yennaris and Aneke will more than likely be sent on similar loans as the end of the transfer window nears. The squad in full:
