Meh, having not too long ago said the Kylian Mbappe rumour and speculation was all becoming a bit boring, it could be argued the same can be said of Arsenal interest in Alexandre Lacazette.

However, the difference with this deal, should the Gunners eventually seal his signature, is the fact Lyon’s Lacazette doesn’t see a move to North London as a mere stop-gap between his ultimately desired destination, unlikely Mbappe and Real Madrid.

Well, assuming Lacazette doesn’t have a deep rooted intention to join Atletico Madrid, a transfer foiled this summer as Atletico saw an agreed deal scrapped when a transfer ban was upheld…

According to the Sun, with the French side agreeing a fee with Chelsea for Bertrand Traore, Arsenal are convinced a £50m offer will seal the deal for Lacazette – the knock on being Olivier Giroud will leave for West Ham.

Lacazette knows where the back of the net is, 100 goals in 203 Ligue 1 games says it all, admittedly the French topflight is somewhat different to the Premier League.

But with Traore’s impending Lyon arrival, confirmed by president Jean-Michel Aulas, the door, previously slammed shut on Arsenal, is opening and the Gunners could be closing in on the 26 year old once and for all.

Giroud, not prepared to play a bit part role again next season, would then take his leave of the Emirates Stadium to move across London to West Ham, in ‘pole position to nab’ him, in the view on the Sun.
