After a shakey start to the season, Arsene Wenger went great guns in the transfer market to get some much needed power and experience into the side, siging William Gallas & Julio Baptista on top of the previously signed and highly rated Tomas Rosicky.

Over the past few years Wenger has been widely critisised for not giving youth a chance, and then from one extreme to the other it is now claimed that he relies too much on youth and a more experienced type of player was needed. Well in this particular window I believe Le Boss has got it bang on. Three out of the four players he signed over the summer were over the age of 23 and they are all full internationals with bags of experience, with the fourth being an upcoming talent who captains his country ay under 19’s level.

I think this is the most balanced team we have had in a very long time. Goalkeepers are pretty much covered (although I’d prefer someone in the place of Almunia), all across the defensive line we have youth AND experience, same with the midfield and upfront we have the awesome Thierry Henry to lead the bunch of highly rated strikers who will undoubtedly go on to bigger and better things, hell, Robin van Persie is only 23 but has gained much experience over the last few months with his national side and indeed he was the star of the show midweek, creating one and scoring two.

The game against Boro, even this early on in the season, is a must win, with a trip to Old Trafford the week after we certainly can not afford to be going there with only one or two points out of three games, that would be unacceptable. We need to be going to Manchester with our spirits high and confident of scoring there, something we have not done in a fair few years.

As a general rule, Boro are easy pickings at Highbury, usually scoring four goals at home against the Riversiders and we even managed a massive seven past them last year, but then again the Gunners don’t seem to have being following th

Arsene Says…

Le Boss gives the injury news – “Apart from knocks and bruises from international games which were more or less difficult, nobody else [new] is out.”

Arsenal Team News:

William Gallas looks set to make his debut but Wenger has yet to decide in which position. Julio Baptista will more than likely come off the bench. Freddie Ljungberg returns.

Player to watch: Thierry Henry

It’s got to be this week he makes an impact. After France’s international in midweek, Henry said he was feeling much better and was feeling his legs again. I predict (as well as a riot) a brace from Mr Henry

Boro Team News:

Has anybody heard anything?? Not me.

Player to watch: Mark Viduka

Match Prediction

Not too sure I should do this after my last attempt, but, I’ll go with 4-0 to the Arsenal.
