The beast of Real Madrid claims that the mighty Gunners are still interested in bringing him to North London.

In a bizarre comments that came literally out of nowhere Baptista said,

‘It is certain that Arsenal want me,’

‘But I have a contract at Madrid and I want to fulfil it.’

‘I am calm and safe, I am going to work to gain the confidence of Capello and be in the eleven,’ he told AS.

‘I want to try to begin well and show the form I finished the last season with, I want to have a high level from the beginning.’

Arsene Wenger’s long pursuit of Baptista ended last summer after the player signed for Real Madrid even though he’d stated that Arsenal would be his dream move.

This sounds more like a come get me plea from a player who has realised he has made a wrong choice.

  • not at the expense of cesc but I can see a swap involving cole. real must also be wondering why they bothered at this stage.

  • A swap deal for cole would be great!! ***** that little**** right off, cash grabbing *****er!! we have enough cover now at left back anyway.

  • damn right, this cole situation is starting to wear on me now i say get rid of him, wouldnt mind baptista coming although only if he played like he did in his sevilla days, and plus if he comes well have a ridiculous amount of central mids

  • hahahaha he sounds like hes stranded now. i dont think that wenger will try and bring him back now but he will probably be cheaper

  • i’d swap him for cole alright… but we’d need another left back… armand traorĂ©? clichy? flamini?… maybe someone new…

  • Ah an interesting proposition. Swap wit Ashley Cole 4 Baps. But to be honest no matter how aggrieved I feel at Cole’s situation I would love him to stay. I mean he is the best LB in da world. I jus hopes he comes to his senses and after he releases his book talks to the board and AW and starts a clean slate. I don’t think he will leave cause Henry stayed and at Arsenal we are in the process of building a team this season and 4 many seasons to come that won’t be matched. Even by the great Barce. As far as Baps is concerned he had his chance but he blew it. Wenger has already made his signings and scouted potential signings that will suit our way of play for now and the future of Arsenal…..
