Arsenal Starlet On His Way Out

Derby County boss Billy Davies has revealed that talks are underway for signature of Ryan Smith to take him to Pride Park.

Smith has long been tipped to be a future star of Arsenal and has been held in a very high regard amongst the backroom staff, but it appears the player does not have what it takes to break through into the first team.

Davies told BBC Radio Derby: ‘He’s a very good young player who we think can bring good quality to our side.

‘We’re hoping to get the deal concluded in the next few days and talks are moving in the right direction. We are just trying to agree terms.’

These comments add more fuel to the fire regarding Arsene Wenger’s statement saying that no transfer, in or out, were near completion. Could it be that the Arsenal gaffer is holding his cards very very close to his chest this season?
