Arsenal are interested in making a move a move for Super Lig sensation Ali Akman, according to The Daily Mail.

However, the Gunners aren’t the only Premier League side who are scouting the £1.35m-rated young ace with Chelsea one of a number of sides in Europe also interested.

According to the publication, Red Bull Salzburg and Galatasaray looked to strike a deal with Bursaspor to sign the 18-year-old back in December last year.

Do Arsenal need to sign a creative midfielder in the January transfer window?

Yes

No

Having got the likes of Tyreece John-Jules, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun at the club, it would be wholly irresponsible if the Gunners bring in the 18-year-old.

His record may be sensational, however, the aforementioned trio have the quality to make the grade in north London. And signing a foreign player would simply harm their progression into the first-team.

Nketiah proves to be at the front of the queue out of the three stars and with his record so far proves to be an incredibly potent option off the bench. Meanwhile, Balogun has been a great all-round addition as seen by his contribution across just 74 first-team minutes this season. And John-Jules has managed five-goal contributions in an injury disrupted season with Doncaster Rovers this year.

Whilst there may be questions marks over the future of Balogun, there’s still the remaining two Hale End stars awaiting their chance. Akman’s signing doesn’t prove helpful at all if you want to help the duo secure a pathway into the first-team, as a matter of fact, it does the exact opposite.

In other news, the Kroenke’s panicked when they made this decision last summer.
