Arsenal hold talks with £22.5m-rated gem who is attracting interest from Juventus

Dominik Szoboszlai is emerging as a major target for Arsenal, who have held talks with the Hungarian youngster, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

According to the Italian publication, the Gunners are in talks with the player’s agent, who is also attracting attention from Serie A clubs Juventus and Napoli.

The Gunners, and Mikel Arteta specifically, are yearning for some creativity in the first-team with chances in front of goal proving to be difficult to come by.

In the recent loss to Aston Villa, Arteta’s men extended their run without a goal from open play to over six hours, an unwanted record for a club who were used to free-flowing attacking football since Arsene Wenger’s arrival at the club.

Would Szoboszlai be a realistic addition for Arsenal in January?

Yes

No

On the face of it, it seems as though the Hungary international is the perfect fit to the north London outfit. The 20-year-old has started the season on fire and has already created nine chances in the Champions League, a figure only bettered by two players.

He’s also quite potent in front of goal and has scored five times in just 13 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg this season, including in two of the three Champions League games.

However, it’s his vision which makes the £22.5m-rated midfielder an attractive prospect. He has already notched up nine assists in all competitions and with more than half the campaign left, you wouldn’t bet against him increasing that tally.

With Arsenal struggling in the final third, a player who can score and assist is exactly what the doctor ordered. Szoboszlai would be the perfect addition for the club and Arteta.

Arsenal fans, do you think Szoboszlai can solve the club’s creativity problem? Let us know!
