Arsenal duo Dani Ceballos and David Luiz are thought to have been involved in a training ground altercation, according to The Athletic.

According to David Ornstein, the two clashed after the Spaniard went in hard on his Brazilian counterpart after Mikel Arteta has blown the full-time whistle following a training match.

Luiz reacted by scratching the midfielder after which the pair were split up by players and numerous members of staff with both men than getting sent home from training.

Well, it’s pleasant to see there is some form of competitiveness within the Arsenal squad after what has been a dismal few years.

Will Arsenal win a major trophy this season?

Yes

No

On the opening day of the season, the Real Madrid loanee was involved in a similar altercation with Eddie Nketiah, who reacted angrily to one of his tackles during a rondo drill. Whilst many will look at the firey Ceballos and label him an issue, he adds a different dimension to the Gunners squad.

The Reds have lacked that fighting edge and spirit in the side since the days of the invincible and were even labelled as a ‘team of son-in-laws’ by Liverpool great Graeme Souness. Arsenal have wilted in big games with their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the 2018 League Cup final the pinnacle of their extreme lack of fire or passion to play for the badge, as noted by Gary Neville

However, with the added spice of a player who goes in hard, it’s just natural that every player raises their effort in training by an extra 20%. That will heighten both the fight and aggression of an Arsenal side, who have been lacking any of those two things for a number of years now.
