Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Welbeck have been called up by England manager Gareth Southgate for the coming international break.

The next international break of the year is almost with us, and England are set for Group F World Cup qualifiers against Malta on September 1 with Slovakia following three days later at Wembley.

Southgate has given Leicester City’s Harry Maguire and Watford’s Nathaniel Chalobah their maiden call ups and England are two points clear in the table.

Wayne Rooney isn’t selected following his announcement that he was retiring from international football this week.
