Fans will have to wait at least another season to see Takuma Asano in action for Arsenal as another loan at Stuttgart has been confirmed on the Official Website this lunchtime.

Having arrived from Japanese J-League side Sanfrecce Hiroshima last summer, Asano was refused a work permit to play in the Premier League and was subsequently loaned to Stuttgart, helping them to promotion back into the Bundesliga.

Despite his regular involvement at Stuttgart, he scored four goals in 26 appearances, the Japanese international wouldn’t be granted a work permit as he doesn’t fit the criteria set out by the Home Office.

A regular in Bundesliga 2 at Stuttgart, as he had been at Sanfrecce Hiroshima, helping them to a couple of J-League titles and several Japanese Super Cup’s. Asano is an international, playing impressively for Japan at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, who remains a talent Arsenal can’t even call upon.

We now know he’ll definitely be spending the 2017-18 season in Germany on another season-long deal – will Asano ever been seen in an Arsenal shirt, well, in a competitive game anyway?
