Julian Draxler is apparently poised to leave Wolfsburg in January with the long-term reported Arsenal interest being stepped up.

However, we’ll face competition from Paris Saint Germain – who we saw off in the Champions League – for the Germany international according to reports in Le Parisien, via talkSPORT.

It was claimed the 23-year-old had a £65m valuation last summer and that put Arsenal off following through an interest. A reported fallout with his Bundesliga club has seen him made available and the Gunners can have him in the New Year.

Well, if we are happy to pay the £30m demanded and can beat off the competition from French champions PSG by all account – at that price he would be a ‘snip’ wouldn’t he?

Another player linked with Arsenal in the past 24-hours or so is AZ Alkmaar keeper Jasper Schendelaar.

The Sun has claimed – crediting Tutto Mercato – Arsenal have opened talks with the teenager who is being ‘monitored’ by a number of European clubs.

Dutch U17 international Schendelaar is under contract with AZ until 2019 but it’s claimed we’re confident of completing a deal for the 16-year-old in January.
