Preparing for the Confederations Cup with Chile, Alexis Sanchez is leaving his future down to his agent.

Both Manchester City and Bayern Munich are most frequently linked with Alexis, the ‘key target’ of City’s, according to Sky Sports.

A new deal at Arsenal hasn’t been signed, there’s little indication this situation will change with Alexis, either side of the Confederations Cup. Then again there’s been nothing to confirm a new contract wouldn’t be signed, aside from continued speculation and the odd suggestion from the Chilean.

Bayern would offer the virtual guarantee of Champions League football year-in-year-out, along with a better than average chance of winning the Bundesliga every season, as the minimum in the domestic game – a great club and all that but would Alexis really be challenged in Germany?

If Alexis, 28, were to leave for Man City, already conducting big money deals this summer, he would have Champions League football next season and would get to work with his former City boss, from their Barcelona days, Pep Guardiola. But such a switch to a Premier League rival has been claimed a non-starter.

Whatever happens, in fairness Alexis wasn’t playing like a man who wanted to leave during Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Chelsea last month, his situation needs to be sorted out quickly, whoever is taking care of this future and wherever it may take him.
