Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is happy in London and said he isn’t planning on leaving but fuelled speculation linking him with Chelsea by saying he wants to play for a club with a ‘winning mentality.’

Alexis appears to have the intention of seeing out his contract with Arsenal but depending on how you read into his comments they could be taken as a hint at an interest in joining Chelsea – reports have claimed they could offer £50m in the summer?

Whilst on international duty with Chile Alexis told the Publimetro, via Sky Sports.

‘I am happy in London and hope to finish my contract there. I’d like to stay in the city but with a team that is winning things, that has a winning mentality. I’m 28 years old, I still have a lot of years ahead of me. I am a player who looks after himself.’

Based on this Alexis will see out his Arsenal contract meaning we have a year to start ‘winning things’ or he’s off. Then again the Gunners aren’t going to risk losing him on a free so things should come to a head this summer?

Looking ahead to the Premier League return against Manchester City on Sunday Arsene Wenger was questioned on Alexis’ comments and the possibility of him being sold to a rival such as Chelsea.

Such a move was ruled out with the Arsenal boss adamant we’re not in a position where we have to sell. Wenger was quoted from his news conference by the Metro as saying.

‘It`s true that it happened before when we were in positions where we had to sell our best players but that is not the case now. He has one and a half year contract it`s not an immediate concern for Arsenal Football Club.’

‘I think personally he`s happy here. It`s true we haven`t extended his contract here, you have to be cautious when people give interviews in their own countries as the interpretation is not always the same. He wants to win the championship.’

So, Alexis is looking to stay in London next season but with what club?
