Alexis Sanchez and Petr Cech have both been speaking of how they hope Arsenal’s improvement this year will result in finally ending our Premier League title drought.

With Sanchez having lifted one FA Cup during his time at Arsenal so far, the Chilean international has been telling the Official Site how he’s hoping that more trophies will follow this year given our start to the campaign and the fact we are unbeaten in 16 games, and of course none would be greater that the league title itself.

‘I think we`re even more determined to achieve something and win the Premier League, but you have to take it slow. We have a great team, our ambitions are high and we want to win the league. We`ve got some new players and a fantastic squad. Regardless of who`s playing, we all need to be 100 per cent focused on our work with the team and the club. Sometimes you might have an off day and you need a player to come off the bench and help you out, so that`s why the squad players are just as important as the starting XI.’

He went on to say.

‘Everything comes down to what happens from now on. All games are different and anything can happen in football. An important player might get injured – someone might leave, someone else might stay. It`s tough to keep it going, but if we stick together and keep putting the running in, I think this team can win it all.’

Cech was also singing from the same hope hymnsheet given our start this season, and with four Premier League titles to his name in his career, Cech knows what it takes from a squad to lift that particular title.

‘I think the first quality we have, is the strength in depth. When we were unlucky with long-term injuries last season, we had to use the same players in so many games and you lack energy in certain parts of the season. We dropped points because we couldn`t rotate. This season we have strength in depth, you could see in the Champions League and domestic cup games and for the Premier League we keep using different players or can use the same players.’

Cech went on to explain that this was key for a manager in helping to keep people fresh and at their best for the tasks that are ahead, and he feels you can already see the benefits of that so far this season.

‘The manager has this choice and I think we are benefitting so far. Everybody looks fit and ready to go game-by-game. Last season everybody was talking about how far we can go, where we can go and we knew that we had a lot of qualities, that`s why we finished in the best position Arsenal had finished in a long time. But we missed a little bit to win the title, so this season we go step-by-step, we try to improve and then I think we are on the right way. I think we are as strong as anybody else in the league. The league is very competitive but I think we are one of the teams who has all the qualities to compete for the title and we know that.’
