The friendship between former Arsenal teammates Benik Afobe and Jack Wilshere almost certainly played a part in convincing the England international to join Bournemouth on a season-long loan last summer.

Wilshere will return to Arsenal at the end of the season but when he does he’ll be moving into the final year of his Gunners contract with plenty of uncertainty surrounding his future according to Afobe.

He’ll – I think we can safely say – not be short of offers should Wilshere decide he wants to leave Arsenal on a permanent basis. However, that future decision – one way or the other – hasn’t been made.

Well, as far as Bournemouth’s Afobe is concerned as the striker said Wilshere doesn’t have a clue where he’ll be next season. But he isn’t in a hurry to decide his future at the moment anyway as he’s merely happy staying injury free – say it quietly – and playing regularly for the Cherries.

Afobe was quoted by the Mirror as saying.

‘To be honest I don`t think even he knows what he is going to be doing. We have convos all the time and he just wants to play week in week out and take it month by month and see what happens at the end of the season. The main thing for him is about getting his confidence back and staying injury free.’

Wilshere made his 19th appearance of the season for Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw with Watford on Saturday with it reported the 25 year old – who continues to interest AC Milan according to this Mirror report – had ‘starred’ in his performance.
