Arsenal have suffered a minor setback in their quest to secure 4th place and that vital Champions League spot.

The Gunners travelled to Fratton park last night with the intention of bringing back all 3 points, but a series of horrendous missies by Emmanuel Adebayor saw the spoils shared.

Goals from Thierry Henry and Lua Lua saw the game finish in a tie.

However the main talking points of the game appear to be Arsene Wenger’s decision to field and extremly inexperienced central midfield and two glaring miss’s by Adebayor.

‘Ade’ twice missed from 3 yards out. The first an amazing opportunity to bag a goal when he sliced his shot wide with the goal at his mercy, and the second a missplaced header when he found himself unmarked from a corner.

Henry, who had been quite all night, got the Gunners off the mark with a wonderfully worked goal when he combined with, ironically enough, Adebayor. After losing the ball, Henry quickly won it back and combined with Manu on the edge of the box and then simply passed the ball in from 18 yards. A typical Arsenal goal.

Lua Lua brought the sides level after Arsenal conceded a freekick on their left, which was whipped in and duely headed home by Lua Lua, who incidently injured himself whilst performing his eleaborate celebrations.

While the result was disapointing in itself, the Gunners are still in with a chance of snatching 4th spot with the Tiny Totts enduring a difficult run in compared with Arsenal’s reletively easy one.

Next up: West Brom.
