‘I want to go’: Star begs Arsenal to let him leave on season-long loan in the summer

|

Lucas Torreira has reiterated his desire to leave Arsenal at the end of this season for Boca Juniors on a one-year loan deal.

The Uruguayan was sent out on a temporary deal to Atletico Madrid, however, has struggled for minutes this season, playing just 671 minutes this season.

Speaking to journalist Federico Bulos, the diminutive midfielder spoke of his desire to leave north London and venture into Argentinian football for a year.

Torreira said: “I want to go to Boca Juniors now. I am 25 years old and I know it’s a club that plays for great targets. I’d like to make the fans happy… but I know it’s not easy. Boca should reach an agreement with Arsenal for a one-year loan.”

Should Arsenal let Torreira leave this summer?

Yes

No

It proves quite sensational the Gunners have gone from possessing players who actively don’t want to leave to a player who is practically begging the club to let him leave.

In years gone by Arsenal have been attempting a ‘clearout’ of their squad after what has been an underwhelming few years of no Champions League qualification. Things got so drastic the club was forced to cancel the contracts of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis, just to free up both wages and space in the squad.

And with the 25-year-old ace virtually out of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the future, a move away would be an ideal scenario for both parties.

Given the situation with both Torreira and Arsenal, securing a loan move to Boca Juniors should prove a piece of cake, however, should the Gunners refuse his request, it would leave a sour taste in everyone’s mouth.

In other news, the future looks bleak for Arsenal should they fail to do this.
