28-cap ace’s fitness issues highlight worrying problems in Arsenal’s training methods – Opinion

|

Thomas Partey has been ruled out of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Leeds United after he picked up a strain to his left hamstring in the defeat away to Aston Villa.

The 28-cap Ghanaian midfielder limped off in the 74th minute of the defeat to Dean Smith’s men and was replaced by veteran attacker Willian.

It’s the third time he’ll face a spell on the sidelines with the football.london claiming the ace will be out for approximately two weeks, despite having previously claimed his injury wasn’t as bad as first feared.

Are persistant injuries done to training methods?

Yes

No

Well, what more can be said about Arsenal and their inability to keep players fit. This isn’t just an issue which has plagued the club recently, but, over the course of a long, long period. The Gunners are well known for suffering a lot of muscle/long-term injuries which points to a massive problem within the walls of London Colney.

This article from nearly five years ago highlighted the issues which hampered the club for a long while. Now in 2020, relatively new signings Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey have already suffered numerous spells on the sidelines since moving to north London and you begin to wonder, is it bad luck? Or poor training methods from the side?

Well, the former Atletico Madrid midfielder has already missed more games for Arsenal in less than a season than he did in his four years with the Spanish giants. Yes, you’ve read that right, having trained with Mikel Arteta’s men for just over a few months, the Ghana international has gone from relatively injury-free to injury-prone.

And given the fact he’s one of our best players, it will hamper the team further as they look to get back on track with a difficult run of fixtures on the horizon.

In other news, Arteta is keen on bringing a club legend back to N5.
