Report: Mikel Arteta keen on bringing three-time FA Cup winning starlet back to the club

|

Mikel Arteta is lining up a shock summer move for former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey in next summer’s transfer window, according to TuttoJuve (via CaughtOffside).

According to the reports, the Welshman is happy to remain at Juventus and, likewise, the Turin-based outfit are happy to keep him.

However, it’s thought the Spanish coach is keen on once again linking up with the player who allowed him to lift the FA Cup trophy back in 2014.

Should Arsenal bring Aaron Ramsey back to the club?

Yes

No

Are returns ever a good idea? Once you’ve cemented your legacy at a club, I personally feel it’s best to stay away rather than to return and damage it.

Ramsey’s time at Arsenal went from being littered with injuries and fitness issues to being littered with FA Cup final winning goals as the Wales international lifted the trophy three times with the side. Given how crucial he’s been in a period of somewhat success, he remains one of the best midfielders to have played for the north London outfit during the Emirates Stadium era.

Returning, and to a shocking Arsenal side at that, would damage his reputation in my opinion.

Just take a look at what’s going on down Seven Sisters Road with Gareth Bale and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Welshman left north London with his head held high as he carried them up the table in a stunning final season back in 2013. However, he’s returned to devastatingly bad effect and has struggled massively this campaign.

Injuries and options ahead of him in the pecking order are both reasons which could well see Ramsey sit on the substitutes bench as opposed to starting for the Gunners. And if you’re going to sit on a bench, you might as well do that with a club like Juventus, where you’re guaranteed Champions League football and trophies.

In other news, one Arsenal player could be next in the mass clearout in N5.
