Arsenal have been set a €25m (roughly £22.6m) price tag for Borussia Dortmund ace Julian Brandt, according to football.london’s Chris Wheatley.
The Gunners are thought to have reservations over Emile Smith Rowe’s ability to stay fit, hence why they are chasing another attacking midfielder.
Wheatley also revealed that central defender Sokratis Ppapstathopolous is set to leave the club in the coming weeks.

Whilst the youngster has looked impressive over the course of the last three Premier League outings, the Gunners would be foolish to turn down such a move for a player of Brandt’s quality. The Germany international is a brilliant player and would add that competition that could push both himself and Smith Rowe to higher levels of performance.
The 24-year-old’s ability to play a killer pass is second to none and has been on full display during his time in the Bundesliga. He earnt himself a move to Dortmund off the back of a sensational campaign with Bayer Leverkusen where the German player 2.6 key passes per game and notched up 18 goal contributions over just 33 league appearances.
Smith Rowe’s injury record is interesting for someone so young. Despite being just 20-years-old, he has already suffered three different fitness issues with the worst having kept him out for two-and-a-half months.
Injuries can kill young players, just look at the likes of Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere, who have suffered as a result of their issues. Having a back-up or a player of Brandt’s quality in your squad to compensate would be a smart move. And if the north London giants can complete a transfer for just €25m then it’s even better.
