Only 24 hours after the announcement came that Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey had committed his future to the mighty Gunners, one of the most exciting prospects in English football has followed suit.

Arsenal Football Club today revealed that Gunners young midfielder, Jack Wilshere had signed a new long term deal with the club.

Arsène Wenger said: “It`s such great news that Jack has signed a new long-term contract. Jack made great progress last season, playing at Under-18s, Reserves and First Team level and we all witnessed what a great young talent he is. At still 17 years of age, the potential is huge for Jack and we`re all delighted that he has committed his long-term future to Arsenal Football Club.”

Jack made his competitive debut for Arsenal in 4-0 victory away at Blackburn Rovers, he featured mostly in the Carling Cup but made a total of 9 first team appearances altogether, bagging himself a goal in the 6-0 demolishion of Sheffield United.

Wilshere was also instrumental Steve Bould’s successful Youth Team FA Cup campaign.
