2007 – The Year Of The Gun

I look back on 2006 with many fond memories but I look forward to 2007 with hopes of better ones.

With a busy Christmas safely tucked behind us now and 9 points in the bag, the less said about Sheffield the better, we can look forward to meeting Liverpool twice in two cup competitions and then both Manchester clubs as we continue to move forward this month.

Henry decided to make an early comeback and looked remarkably fresh and his old lethal self, RVP has decided he has got the taste of scoring and I hope he will show Liverpool which is the superior Dutchman tomorrow and Theo is showing us what an amazing talent he is with Henry never too far away to drop in a praising word or two.

With our injuries lightening now and players ready to come back, you could say that 2007 is looking to be a good year for the faithful down at Ashburton Grove.
Wenger continues to come up with gems of players for no little money and has clearly said no matter what their nationality if they are good enough they will play.

Historically Arsenal always play much better second half of the season for some strange reason, and with many of the youngsters now coming of age and finding themselves I think the same is going to happen this year.

It is my personal belief that Arsenal can claw back the 9pts gap from Chelsea and with United yet to have a bad spell, who knows what could happen from there. I suffer from that terrible decease of being the eternal optimist, but as the old saying in football goes “it ain`t over till the fat man sings “without wanting to refer to Martin Jol in a derogatory way!

And finally if we get to February unbeaten at home, that would signal a year of being unbeaten at home, I know not as good as Chelsea`s record or Liverpool for that fact, but it shows that something is starting at Ashburton Grove and The Gunners are going to be firing on all fronts this year!
