‘2-1 And Spurs Fluffed It Up’

Despite having played on Saturday’s, Sunday’s are by tradition, quiet news days, and considering our mammoth win at Ewood yesterday today has been as bad as any.

So imagine my delight then upon the final at White Hart Lane with Sp*rs having been 2-1 up, the Lilywhites snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Before all the Vital Spuds get here with their ‘You must fear us because you’re always writing articles about us’, I say NO.

Spurs are our local rivals, and as a Gooner it is my right, nay, my duty to take the piss out of Spurs at every opportunity.

And today is just one of those days.

I didn’t watch the first half because despite being a fan of football in general, I find it difficult to stomach watching a Spurs game unless it’s versus Arsenal, so decided to watch ‘The Phantom Menace’ instead.

Shortly after Ewan McGregor had dispatched the evil sith I decided I may as well have a butchers at the game seen as the second half was about to start.

Andy Gray reliably informed me that the score was 1-1 and the Pascal Chimbonda should not be on the pitch for raising his hands to Nicky Butt in retaliation (More inconsistencies in refereeing standards).

Not long into the second half Nobby Solano made a fantastic block on the line only for Berbatov to scuff his shot into the ground and past Shay Given.

The annoying sound of ‘We are Tottenham, super Tottenham’ could be heard, just, and this was my cue to switch of the telly once again.

My wife decided it was time to talk about decorating or some other such subject and after ten minutes I thought even watching Spurs was a better choice.

The tv was switched back on.

One thing that caught my eye about the game was the work rate of Obafemi Martins, the geezer ran himself into the ground, and as he ran away from goal I thought he would be denied a goal he so richly deserved.

How wrong was I?

Martins, from a ridiculous angle and 20 yards away from goal, smashed an unreal drive past a dismayed Paul Robinson and into the roof of the net. (You’d have saved that if you’d lost a few pounds Robbo).

Laughter ensued for my wife and I.

Seconds later laughter changed to exctasy and an OAP strolled through the Sp*rs defence and made it 3-2.

My sides were split.

Unbelievable missies from Robbie Keane & Ditmar Berbatov put the icing on a rather sweet cake.

Now when I give you the statistic I’m about to give you, bear in mind Gooners, this is the same team who’s fans have baited and taunted us for the past 18 months how Tottenham are a team on the rise whilst the mighty Gunners are in decline.

Ok, back to that stat I promised you.

Today, Tottenham suffered their 9th loss of the season, that total is the exact same amount as they lost in the WHOLE of last season.

So if you Sp*rs fans are to be believed that Arsenal are a team in decline after their lowest finish in the Premier League since Mr. Wenger’s arrivel, then following your logic, Spurs rise last season was incredibly short lived and now you a team in decline.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Gooners.
